Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs)



Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) are cancer cells that undergoes epithelial mesenchymal transition and circulates in the bloodstream. After detachment from primary tumor site, CTCs metastasize and invades other organs to form metastatic tumor. These cells exist in peripheral blood of cancer patients and detection of CTCs can help determine the process of metastasis and predict the prognosis of treatment. However, in contrast with other blood cells, the number of CTCs is extremely rare and thereby very difficult to detect.  Abnova Diagnostic's CytoQuest™ CR, CytoQuest™ DX and CytoBot™ platforms, in combination with GMP grade reagents, offer a high-throughput, automated method for isolating CTCs.
